Irish Aid and the Our World Awards

Irish Aid is the Irish Government's International Development Programme that supports people in over 130 countries around the world. We work with countries that are affected by poverty and hunger, climate change and conflict as we aim to create a better world.

The Our World Awards gives your 3rd-6th class pupils the chance to learn more about the developing world and to speak out for a better future for all the world’s people.

Everyone in the world has an important role to play in fighting global poverty and creating a better world. Taking part in the Awards is a good place to start. Are you and your class up to the challenge?

The UN Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) are a set of 17 important goals to help make the world a better and fairer place by 2030.

Created in 2015, these goals focus on solving big problems like poverty, hunger, and making sure everyone has access to good health, education, and clean water. They also aim to protect the environment, fight climate change, and make the world safer and more peaceful. Each goal is like a big task that countries, businesses, and people work on together.
